Lille manager, Rene Girard, has blasted the Premier League after their dire showing in Europe this week.
Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool all lost midweek in their respective competitions, but Girard mainly focused on The Gunners’ heavy defeat to AS Monaco.
The French side won 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, and the Lille manager had a lot to say on the matter stating that people claim French football is ‘s**t’, but the game in North London proved that there is ‘s**t’ in England too.
‘To those who say our league is s***, it [Monaco’s win over Arsenal] proves there’s perhaps s*** elsewhere as well,’ Girard said.
Many people consider the Premier League as the best league in football, but after a shocking week in Europe, Girard for one doesn’t believe the hype.
