Monaco will demand £14.5 million for defensive midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia when Manchester United and Arsenal come calling this summer.

Having been linked with the Premier League two seasons ago, United and the Gunners will step up their interest following the 22-year-old’s fine form this season.

Kondogbia joined Monaco in 2013 for £11 million and after his Champions League exploits at the Emirates, his victims are now taking note of his ability, as they prepare a summer bid following his goal against the club in the first leg of the last-16.

Arsenal legend Perry Groves advised Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to sign up a “perfect” signing for the club.

“There’s a lad at Monaco called Geoffrey Kondogbia who is very similar to Patrick Vieira and he played at the Emirates Cup,” he said.

“Arsenal need someone who can help in the transition from defence to attack. It would take a lot of money to get him, but he’s physically imposing and he would be the perfect buy.”

The 6″2 former Sevilla man has already made his senior debut for France.
