French side want to open talks with Premier League champions

With a deal for the transfer of Monaco’s Colombian striker Radamel Falcao to Chelsea almost complete, the French club want two of the Blues’ young stars to sweeten the deal.

Falcao had a miserable time last season on loan at Manchester United, but that has not deterred Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho from wanting the forward.

Reports suggest the French side want midfielders Mario Pasalic and Charly Musonda.

Belgian Musonda’s father, Charly senior, claims a move away from Chelsea to secure regular first-team football will be good for his son.

Father Wants Son to leave Chelsea

“Charly must absolutely leave Chelsea and, since January, Monaco have been trying to sign him,” he said.

“Monaco are not alone, but they truly want him.

“He’s not had a specific discussion with Jose Mourinho yet, but he’s trained regularly with the first team. He often watches his friend Eden Hazard. He plays an important role for Charly with his advice. My son does not want to copy his style but develop his own.

“Chelsea don’t want him to go back to Belgium. They want Charly to play in a good team in a big league. He must play for a first team.

“He progresses every day, but he must develop further. Technically, he’s always been good but he still has much work to do on a physical and mental level. He’s paying attention to this aspect of football.”

Musonda played a key role in Chelsea’s youth team last term, while Pasalic spent last season on loan in Spain, with Elche.
