Lubomir Moravcik has said that Celtic have done well in signing Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

The Ivory Coast international has agreed a four year long deal with the Hoops subject to a successful medical and work permit.

Former Celtic star Lubomir Moravcik has hailed the Hoops signing Ivory Coast international Vakoun Issouf Bayo. The striker has been signed by the Bhoys on a four-year-long deal and would be the one to lead the line for his new club. The Ivory Coast international joins USA starlet Timothy Weah as the new signings for Brendan Rodgers’ side this January.

Speaking about the inclusion of the 21-year-old striker at the Glasgow club, the former Celtic star said,  “When Moussa Dembele came to Celtic he was nobody. After two years he moved to Lyon for ÂŁ20million.”

He added, “I think Bayo can do the same – come from nowhere, play well at Celtic and then move on to a top club in England or elsewhere in Europe. He has done very well. He is a good player, a good striker, and he has scored a few goals in the Slovakian league this season. I think he is ready to play well in Scotland. He has a lot of good qualities – he is 6ft tall, can cope with the physical side of the game, is a very good header of the ball, is quick enough and technically is excellent. It is a good idea for Celtic to target him.”
