20-year-old Ghanaian defender is a target at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing the signing of 20-year-old Ghana international Baba Rahman, from Augsburg.
The current Premier League champions will look to bolster their options at left-back with the £20 million signing of Rahman, having spent £15.8 million on Filipe Luis last season.
Luis hasn’t had the start to Premier League life that he would have liked, and Mourinho could be prepared to bring further competition for the more regular left-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
Advise from Chelsea employee
It also understood that Mourinho contacted former Blues boss Avram Grant, coach of the Ghanaian national team, to take advise on the potential signing of Rahman.
The youngster has excelled for his Bundesliga side this season, while he would be a fitting, young signing for Chelsea‘s attempts to defend their title in 2015/16.
