United boss was sent to stands against West Ham

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is facing a two match ban for his actions on the Old Trafford touchline during his team’s game vs West Ham yesterday.

It was the second time in the last 3 home games this has happened for the Special One, this time for kicking a water-bottle down the touchline after Paul Pogba was booked for diving.

“The referee explained it to Jose and there is nothing more to say,” United’s assistant manager Rui Faria said after the match.

“I think there was frustration from Jose after the yellow card for Pogba. It should be a foul for us but the referee understood it in another way.

“I think everyone saw it but it is part of the game. It was the referee’s decision.”

Pogba will now miss United’s next game, which is West Ham again at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup later this week.
