Jose Mourinho admits team doctor Eva Carneiro could return to the bench

The Chelsea manager said Carneiro would remain at the club along with physio Jon Fearn.

The two members of medical staff were criticized after treating Eden Hazard when he was not injured, during the end of last weekend’s match against Swansea City.

Mourinho has now decided against sacking Carneiro and/or Fearn but has banned the pair of them from attending upcoming matches.

“Jon Fearn and Dr Carneiro will not be on the bench on Sunday but that doesn’t mean they cannot be in the future.”

“We need disagreements to improve. We work together and we improve together. That is the way we do things” said Mourinho.

Liverpool’s former head of medicine, Peter Brukner, believes the Portugese coach was in the wrong and that he should apologise to Carnerio.

“Jose has shown a complete lack of respect. He should apologise and the club should ensure that the doctor and physio are not demoted as a result” said Brukner.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Stones

The Blues continue to be linked with Everton defender John Stones despite having a second bid rejected, reported to be worth around £25million.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has criticized Mourinho for the way he has publicized his interest in the former Barnsley defender.

Chelsea are thought to be considering a third bid for the England international as Mourinho searches for a long-term successor to John Terry.

However, Manchester United could try to sign Stones as the Red Devils look to bolster their own defensive options after playing midfielder Daley Blind at centre-back against Tottenham last weekend.

Manchester United Manager Louis Van Gaal has hinted at the possibility of more signings before the transfer windows, and could throw Johnny Evans into the deal as well.
