This year’s Premier League title is Manchester City’s to lose, according to Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, despite his team being four points clear at the top with just 10-games left.
The Blues extended their lead to four points after they eased past bottom-club Fulham on Saturday, and closest-rivals Arsenal lost 1-0 away at Stoke City.
Mourinho’s men now lead both Arsenal and Liverpool by four points at the top, and also lead Manuel Pellegrini’s men by six-points, but they have two games in hand over the table-toppers.
Due to a game being postponed and other cup commitments, City are two games behind Chelsea, and if they win both of those matches, they will jump from fourth to first due to their better goal difference.
Pellegrini’s free-scoring side earlier in the season has given them a much better goal difference and that is why Mourinho believes they are the favourites.
“I prefer to have the destiny in my hands, and only City have destiny in their hands,” he said.
“If I win every game until the end of the season, all 10 – which we won’t – maybe we are not champions.
“If they win all 12 games they have, they are champions. They have their destiny in their hands.”
