Mourinho Still In Awe Of Andrew Robertson

Jose Mourinho might not have indulged in blaming a third party after the 3-1 loss against Liverpool but he did answer a few of the questions in peculiar fashion.

“The players gave everything, and when the players give everything I am never frustrated towards them. I have a good feeling towards them. They play in relation to their qualities, the same way Liverpool play in relation to their qualities.”

Manchester United have handed Mourinho over £400m to spend through the transfer windows and their obscene talent pool are supposedly not matched with the qualities of Liverpool players?

“They are fast, they are intense, they are aggressive, they are physical, they are objective. They play 200 miles per hour with and without the ball. I am still tired just looking at Robertson! He makes 100-metre sprints per minute, absolutely incredible, and these are qualities.”

Andrew Robertson, who drew the most praise cost the Reds £8m in comparison to Diogo Dalot’s (another fullback) £19m. While Jurgen Klopp did have a lavish spread of players last night, one can hardly say that his bunch, individually is any better than the ones on United.

Liverpool operated under a working system with a clear goal in mind, whereas Mourinho’s men looked clueless. Just 30 minutes into the game, Liverpool had 11 attempts on goal while United had just 1.

“I would say that Liverpool deserved the victory, but it’s hard for my players to work hard like they did, and to lose in exactly the moment when we didn’t believe we would lose. If you tell me in the first 25 minutes we are going to lose, I would say yes it looks so. But the moment we lost the game was the moment we didn’t believe we would lose.”
