Mourinho to beg Courtois to stay at Chelsea

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is planning on holding personal talks with on-loan goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as he tries to convince him to remain in England for next season.

The Belgium ‘keeper has spent the last three seasons in Spain with Atletico Madrid and was even part of the team that eliminated Chelsea from this year’s Champions League, and after being impressed by him during those matches, Mourinho now wants him to stay in England and compete with Petr Cech.

However, Courtois has made it clear that he will only return to The Bridge when he is guaranteed the number-one jersey, and that doesn’t look likely as Mourinho wants Cech to remain the number-one for at least another season.

According to numerous reports, Courtois will sign a new deal at Chelsea, but will spend yet another season with Madrid before returning to England to be Chelsea’s number-one for the 2015/2016 season.

It’s believed that Mourinho will hold personal talks with the ‘keeper once he returns to England after the World Cup.
