Mousa Dembele has admitted they need to bounce back following their disappointing loss at the hands of Inter Milan.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were on the course to register a victory in their Champions League opener as they were leading through a Christian Eriksen strike. But Inter hit back with back to back strikes from Mauro Icardi and Matias Vecino as the Italian side pulled an emphatic victory from the jaw of defeat.
Despite the defeat, Dembele was one of the shining lights in the Spurs team. The Belgian international pulled the strings in the centre of the park and helped his team in gaining stability in the middle of the park.
Dembele said, “I think we played well, we were very disciplined but I think we had to finish the game when we could and after it’s so disappointing when we gave them the three points.
“We saw that there are possibilities here and then it’s disappointing when you lose here. When it was 1-1 I think we still could have done the job. Obviously it’s a missed opportunity. There were a lot of opportunities here but okay, it’s finished now, we have to keep our heads up because there were a lot of positives as well and we need to continue.
“We can’t let it stay like this, we need to turn this around so for us, I understand that everybody is disappointed but we need to turn it around because there’s not too much time between games.”
