Real Sociedad manager David Moyes interested in Aston Villa’s managerial position, following Tim Sherwood’s sacking yesterday.
The former Manchester United and Everton gaffer is currently in charge of Spanish side Real Sociedad but is believed to want a return to England.
The 52-year-old is on top of Villa’s shortlist alongside former Lyon manager Remi Garde, who has also been approached.
Sherwood was fired after an unimpressive start to the campaign which has left Villa sat bottom of the Premier League table.
Villa’s hierarchy of Randy Lerner and Tom Fox made the decision to give the former Tottenham Hotspur boss the boot following his post-match comments after their game against Swansea City.
Sherwood, 46, described the club as being in a hole and made a couple of comments about his players, which appeared to upset the dressing room.
However, Moyes believes he can reinvigorate Villa and guide them to avoid relegation this season. The Scotsman is interested into talking to the Villa board about the managerial role.
