David Moyes has spoken to the printed press ahead of United’s vital game away at Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, and has issued a hand’s off warning to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, regarding to the proposed transfer of Wayne Rooney.

Moyes however stated that he is in no real rush to tie up a new dea; for Rooney, with the 28 year old having 18 months left on his current deal at Old Trafford.

United reckon Rooney is now fully settled and content at Old Trafford, after a summer of speculation regarding a possible transfer to Chelsea, and that Rooney was reportedly upset at Moyes’s arrival at the club, as the two have had a hostile relationship ever since Rooney left Everton for United in the summer of 2004.

Rooney had a similar outburst in the 2010/11 campaign, and after the breakdown of Rooney’s relationship with recently retired manager Sir Alex Ferguson, after the Scotsman made comments about Rooney in his book.

It is believed that United would like to tie him down to a new four-year contract, which would see him secured beyond his 32nd birthday, but Moyes is worried that if Manchester United can’t turn their recent slump around, then Rooney could be tempted to join Mourinho’s Chelsea.

Moyes remains positive that a deal can be done and stated…..

Wayne is resisting any and all attempts from the club to talk about his contract situation,” the source said.

“He knows, more than anything, that with his contract running down and in the form that he is in, he holds all the aces.”

One potential suitor could be in the over side of London, the current Premier League table toppers Arsenal, with manager Arsene Wenger likely to strengthen his side with another striker in the January window.
