The reds are looking to bolster their squad this summer
Liverpool have enjoyed a successful campaign this season under Jurgen Klopp, reaching the Champions League final where they will face Read Madrid on 26th May. Despite losing Philipe Coutinho in the January transfer window to Barcelona, the players have performed exceptionally well.
RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita is set to arrive at the club this summer but Klopp is looking to make more signings in the transfer window to strengthen the squad for next season. The Premier League giants have been recently linked with a move for Lyon star Nabil Fekir.
The reports also claimed that Klopp has already met with the 24 year old ahead to convince him to join the Reds this summer, beating the competition from Chelsea who are also believed to be interested in him. They are ready to pay €70 million to land him.
But the France International has claimed there is nothing to discuss about his future yet and his focus was still on his club.
“I’m in Lyon for two more games and then we’ll see,” he told L’Equipe.
“For now, there’s nothing. The president trusts me and I feel good at Lyon.”
“The president told me, like he told everyone else when they signed their contracts, that we have the possibility to talk whenever I want to leave,” he said.
“Nobody signs for life in a club. It doesn’t work like that.
“But I don’t have a free pass to leave. I have a contract until 2020. I’ll let destiny handle the rest.”
Fekir has spent his entire professional career at Lyon and made his senior debut for the club back in 2013. He has been very impressive this season, scoring 22 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions.
