The striker has been on fire for the Serie A side this season
Napoli are plotting to offer Gonzalo Higuain a new deal at the club.
The forward has performed superbly for the Italian club so far this campaign and it has led to club officials considering offering him a new deal.
The Argentina international’s current deal only expires in 2018 but the club are so pleased with his performances that they are willing to offer him a new deal that expires at an even later date than the current one.
Chelsea keen on the forward
This news will be a huge blow to a number of sides, with many top European clubs currently keeping an eye on the striker with a view to sign him either in January or at the end of the current season.
Arsenal and Chelsea have once again been linked with moves for the 27-year old, with the Blues on the lookout for a forward who can help them rejuvenate their season, with Costa potentially heading out the exit door.
However, if Napoli do decide to offer a new deal, Higuain could end up committing his long-term future to the Serie A club instead of looking elsewhere.
