Napoli rule out signing Mario Balotelli

Napoli sporting director, Riccardo Bigon, has rubbished reports linking his club with a move for Liverpool striker, Mario Balotelli.

The Italian international has only just left Serie A after being sold by AC Milan to Liverpool for ÂŁ16million, but after a tricky start to life back in England, reports emerged suggesting that Brendan Rodgers was already thinking about selling the forward.

Balotelli, who netted against Swansea City on Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup, has struggled to hit the ground running in the Premier League and hasn’t managed to win over the Merseyside faithful with his lazy and dire performances.

His reputation at the club was further damaged when he was seen swapping shirts with Pepe at half-time during their defeat to Real Madrid.

Due to his struggling start, reports suggested that Liverpool were ready to sell him in January, just months after signing him, and Napoli were one of the teams linked with making a ÂŁ10m bid, but Bigon has rubbished the reports claiming they are all just nothing stories.

“It’s a rumour told in Spain, England and Italy but I don’t think it is a possibility,” Bigon told Mediaset.

“Nothing of what has been posted is true.

“Mario Balotelli is a really great player but he has been just signed by Liverpool who believes a lot in him.

“Best wishes to him in his English adventure.”
