New 5-year Anfield deal for Henderson

Since signing for the Reds in 2011, Jordan Henderson has gone from ‘villain of the piece’ to number one on the team sheet, and club vice-captain. The Anfield faithful now back the boy from Sunderland completely, and the Liverpool heirarchy are now looking to secure his long-term future.

The proposed deal, worth in excess of ÂŁ4million a year, would see Hendo at Anfield for another 5 years.

Liverpool are currently on a contract renewal drive, and it is hoped that Henderson sees no reason to improve his income elsewhere, and the signing will be straightforward.

At the rate he has improved over the last few years, who knows what Henderson will achieve over the next 4 or 5 years, but we can be rest assured, there will be few players on the field for club and country that spill just as much blood and guts as he does. A future Liverpool captain? You would have to think so. Maybe even England captain one day. The world is at Henderson’s feet right now, and let’s hope he keeps improving at the rate he has done….and still only 24, he could yet become an Anfield legend.
