Real Madrid and Chelsea Football Club announced yesterday they had both reached an agreement over a fee for Alvaro Morata.

Reports say that the Blues have paid a fee of around £70m to seal the transfer of the Real Madrid man.

The 24-year-old has now left Real Madrid’s training camp in the USA and is now heading to London to discuss personal terms ahead of a medical.

No complications are to be expected, which will see Morata announced as a Chelsea Football Club player today likely.

Antonio Conte has been keen to add a top striker to his ranks, having missed out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.

With Diego Costa set to leave Stamford Bridge and Michy Batshuayi’s future also still in some doubt, Chelsea need to bolster their frontline.

When asked what will happen if Chelsea and Madrid meet in the Champions League this season, Morata told Spanish newspaper AS:

“I hope [they meet].

“That would mean that both us and them are progressing in the Champions League.

“But I don’t want to think about it. Now all I am thinking about is getting to London.”
