Newcastle United have agreed a fee with Paris Saint Germain foe central midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The French International looks set for a return to his homeland, with Paris Saint Germain poised to capture the midfielder, who signed for Newcastle from Ligue 1 club Lille in the summer of 2011.

Cabaye will fly to Paris to undergo a medical ahead of a lucrative ÂŁ24 million move, after agreeing a fee with Newcastle.

He recently stated his desire to play in the Champions League, and moving to the French Champions will of course satisfy Cabaye’s long term desire to play in Europe’s elite competition.

Alan Pardew stated earlier in the day that Cabaye would probably leave, and accepted that he could not guarantee were Cabaye’s long term future would lie.

Oil rich AS Monaco, and Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United both had bids rejected for the the Frenchman during the two previous windows, but it appears, Paris is Cabaye’s preffered destination, ahead of a lucrative mood.

He refused to play for the Magpies, after handing in a transfer request, in order to attempt to sort out a move to Arsenal, but stated in September that he was happy in the North East.

However, Cabaye has continued to be linked with a move away from Newcastle before the transfer deadline on 31 January.

Both sides have agreed a deal and compensation for the playmaker, and a move looks to be all but sealed, with Cabaye set to earn a lucrative contract with the Parisians.
