Reports are coming in that Newcastle have had a bid accepted for Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis and that a deal should soon be completed.
A £6.9 million bid was earlier this week rejected by Lyon but it seems as though Newcastle finally have agreed on a fee with Lyon.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas have confirmed the agreement when telling the French website Journal du Dimanche: “We have accepted the proposal of Newcastle, which is eight million euros, plus two million bonus.”
The signing would become Newcastle’s first of the summer and could be finalised during the weekend if personal terms can be agreed.
