John Carver will remain at the club
Newcastle United Football Club have recently released a statement discussing the potential situation at the club and confirmed that John Carver and his team will remain at the club.
The Magpies have lost their last eight games on the bounce and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship. They currently sit two points above the drop zone, but Sunderland, who are currently 18th, have a game in hand over their local-rivals.
Newcastle have lost to; Manchester United, Everton, Arsenal, Sunderland, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea City and Leicester City on the bounce and are currently 15th in the league.
With just three games remaining in the Premier League, Newcastle may just be safe due to their early season form, but with eight games on the bounce on the back of their mind and a couple of suspensions coming off the Leicester game, there are fears around St James Park.
With pressure on and fans worried, Newcastle decided to release the following statement this afternoon.
“Following the result at Leicester City on Saturday, there has been two days of frank dialogue with John Carver and senior players.
“The outcome of those discussions is that the board, Carver, his staff and players are absolutely focused on our current situation and the three hugely-important fixtures that remain this season, two of which are at St. James’ Park.
“All parties accept responsibility for the current situation but are determined, together, to ensure this Club – your Club – retains its Premier League status.
“That is the only focus at this time.”
In their last three games, Newcastle host West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United, whilst face an away trip to Queens Park Rangers.
Newcastle will be hoping that one win from the last three will see them safe.
