Neymar is looking for a way out of Paris Saint-Germain after only two years from becoming the world’s most expensive player at €222m.
The Brazilian superstar shocked the world when opted to move out of Barcelona for the Ligue 1 champions in 2017. His transfer became the biggest in the history of the sport and he himself became one of the highest paid athletes in the world.
Two seasons and a couple of Ligue 1 titles later, it seems like the 27-year-old is fed up with the Parisians. His career has gone downhill, blighted by injuries and constant failure to make a mark in the Champions League.
Reports claim that Neymar wants to return to the Camp Nou but his transfer would cost upwards of €300m. PSG have always denied rumours that the Brazilian could leave them for greener pastures and their owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently came out and sent the strict warning Neymar’s way.
“I want players willing to give everything for the shirt, the club and join for the project,” he told France Football. “Those who do not want that, or do not understand, we will see each other and talk.
“Of course, there are contracts to be respected, but the priority now is total commitment to the project. Nobody forced Neymar to sign for us. Nobody pushed him here. He knowingly signed up for this project.”
