Brazilian superstar Neymar is angling a move out of Paris Saint Germain, with Barcelona said to be the firm favourites for his signature. The 27-year-old left the Catalan giants to join Les Parisiens in a deal worth ÂŁ200m in August 2017.

While Neymar is eager to get out of the club, Barca’s bitter rivals Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for him. According to some reports, Zidane is interested in swapping Neymar with Bernabeu outcast Gareth Bale.

And, ESPN FC pundit Shaka Hislop can already see the move happening.

“I still feel that PSG might be the best fit [for Bale] for a number of reasons,” the former West Ham goalkeeper said.

“One, I’m still kind of convinced that Neymar would prefer to go to Madrid than Barcelona, that’s just me.”

“Maybe it suits Bale similarly [at PSG]. I don’t think [Bale] can be the player he once was.”

“Yeah, because of injuries and once you cross 30 things start to go down a little bit, slowly albeit.”

“But maybe in France, given the disparity between PSG and everybody else, he doesn’t have to exert himself in the way that he did in Spain and certainly would have to if he returned to England. I think that makes sense.”

Real Madrid recently signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea for ÂŁ88.5m this summer and Hislop said that the two can combine well at the Bernabeu.

“I think good players can work together and I think both of them [Hazard and Neymar] are fantastic players.”

“But my concern with Neymar is he has to buy into what you’re doing, and that’s the trouble. He has to realise that it’s not all about him.”

“Certainly, ever since he’s left Barcelona, everything he’s done is all about him. If you can get the best out of him again, world-class talent no question.”

“Good players play well together.”
