According to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, Brazilian superstar Neymar is ready to accept a pay-cut in a bid to rejoin Barcelona. He joined PSG from Barcelona in a world-record £200m deal in 2017.

The Paris Saint Germain forward has endured a tough time at Parc des Princes on the European level, failing to steer the club to Champions League victory. He is desperate to leave the club this summer.

However, PSG are adamant on recouping the world-record fee they forked out to sign the former Barcelona man.

Confirming Neymar’s intentions, Balague said to the BBC,

“The player is happy to reduce his wages from 38 million euros net to 23 million euros net,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“It is an interesting situation at Barcelona. They feel they have to try really hard to get him back.”

“Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez want him back,” Balague added.

“But also the president Josep Maria Bartomeu has two more years in his mandate and he wants to leave a big legacy. Can you imagine all those players that have been mentioned and Neymar as well?”

Barcelona are thought to have multiple deals to PSG for Neymar, including players like Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic. Meanwhile, fierce rivals Real Madrid are also said to be testing the waters with a possible bid for the Brazilian.
