FC Barcelona star, Neymar, has revealed that muddy pitches were the reason behind him snubbing a chance to move to England.
Before completing his mega-money move to the Nou Camp, Neymar was strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester City both interested in landing the Brazilian, but he eventually chose to swap Brazil with Spain.
The Santos forward completed his move to Barca back in 2013 and he has now revealed what made him snub a chance to join Chelsea or City.
According to sources close to the 22-year-old, his officials told City and Chelsea that if he were to move to England, he would require special boots to play in due to the state of the pitches.
Neymar wasn’t a fan of the idea of playing in muddy pitches, and that put City off as well as Chelsea, who never made a formal move for the starlet.
