No title talk yet from Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that the club believe 100% that they can win this year’s Premier League title, but the Frenchman has also said that it is ridiculous to talk about winning the league after just six games.

The Gunners are currently top of the table after winning five out of their six games and are sitting two-points clear of second-place Liverpool and a staggering eight-points clear of last year’s winners Manchester United.

Despite the impressive start, Wenger has said that it’s important for the player’s to keep their feet on the ground and keep fully focused on the tasks ahead.

“You believe 100 per cent [you can win it] or you don’t believe, so that’s how much our belief is,” said the manager.

“I think in our job the most important thing is to have a good balance between ambition and humility. Ambition because of course we want to win but humility as well because we know we have only played six games and to speak today about the title is absolutely ridiculous.

“What we have done is to continue to have the same ambition, and I think the team has a good humility level and is conscious that we want to improve.

“After Villa most of it was positive because I trust the mentality of the group. It was one game, the first in 21 now. We hadn’t lost since March.

“We were in a massive crisis after our first game.” He said sarcastically.

‘We hadn’t bought anyone, we started badly and for the fact we hadn’t won the championship for so many years made it explosive. We had to respond and we did.’
