AFC Bournemouth have tried to re-sign striker

Norwich City have confirmed that they received two formal offers from AFC Bournemouth for striker Lewis Grabban.

The 27-year-old joined The Canaries from Bournemouth last summer, and helped them gain promotion to the Premier League after scoring 12 goals in the Championship.

Grabban was a fan favourite for The Cherries, scoring 35 league goals for the club during his two year stay there, and Norwich boss Alex Neil has confirmed that they’ve received two formal offers from the player’s former-employers.

Speaking to Radio Norfolk, Neil confirmed that there were two offers made, but both were rejected as they didn’t want to sell to a direct-rival, with both team expected to be in a relegation fight come May.

Neil Gives Grabban Update

“Lewis is an important member of the squad and I’m not interested in selling him to one of our direct competitors,” Neil told BBC Radio Norfolk.

“The situation is that Bournemouth have come in with two separate bids for Lewis and both have been rejected.

“I think when it gets to this stage of the transfer window, anything is possible. There’s some things that happen you don’t expect and we’ll be prepared for that.”
