Guillermo Ochoa had a very shaky start to his career with Corsican side Ajaccio when he signed back in 2011. But this season has seen a spectacular string of performances from the Mexican, most noteably, Ajaccio’s 1-1 draw away at PSG. This game saw Ochoa save 12 goal-bound shots and his display was ssen as one of the best in Ligue 1 for a long time.
Ochoa then went on to record two clean sheets following the draw and it seemed as though Ochoa would be Ajaccio’s main man in their bid to avoid relegation. However, Ochoa ha still conceeded 34 goals this season which leaves his side bottom, going into the new year.
Ochoa, having already made international appearances, will be keen to prove himself so he can get playing time at this year’s World Cup in Brazil.
According to reports from France and Italy, Milan were keen to sign the keeper during the summer transfer period, but a move never materialised. Napoli and Liverpool were also linked with the Mexican, so now the transfer window has opened, Ochoa will be likely to make an exit from Ligue 1.
