Coaching staff clear-out begins at Anfield

According to Liverpool senior squad coach Pep Lijnders, Sean O’Driscoll and Gary McAllister will be relieved of their duties at the club to compensate for Jurgen Klopp’s appointment.

O’Driscoll and McAllister were appointed Brendan Rodgers’ assistant manager and first team coach respectively in pre-season, but now face losing their jobs with Klopp set to become the new Reds’ boss.

The duo replaced Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh in the Reds dugout, but Rodgers’ sacking and a poor start to the season means they will be replaced themselves by a new set of coaching staff.

Former Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp will be bringing his preferred coaching team with him to Merseyside, including assistant Zeljko Buvac who is known as ‘the Brain’.

Klopp is expected to be announced as the new Liverpool chief today.
