Ajax have signed 27-year old Dutch winger Quincy Promes on a 5-year deal for a transfer fee of €15.7 million. Promes previously played at Ajax’s youth team from 2002-2008.

Promes will be Ajax’s 6th signing of the summer transfer window. Erik ten Hag is eager to bolster Ajax’s squad after a terrific 2018/19 season has already seen Frenkie de jong leave for Barca and Matthijs de Ligt on the brink of a move to most likely Juventus.

Promes’ addition will certainly boost Ajax’s attack which already has the likes of Dusan Tadic, David Neres and the  experienced Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Promes has so far made 260 apearances, scoring 97 goals and providing 62 assists. He has also made 38 appearances for the Netherlands national team, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists. His most recent goal came in Netherlands’ 3-1 win over England in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals.

Quincy Promes will reunite with Erik ten Hag who coached him during his loan spell at Go Ahead Eagles.
