Borussia Dortmund have purchased the permanent rights of Paco Alcacer from Barcelona for £24.5m (€28m).
The 25-year-old striker has been a massive success ever since he made his way over to the Signal Iduna Park, scoring 12 goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season.
Barcelona will receive €24m right now and the other €4m through various clauses. The La Liga giants are also privy to 5% of Alcacer transfer fees, should he be sold by BVB in the future.
The Spaniard has 15 senior caps for his country and 9 international goals. He has also represented Spain at various youth levels.
Alcacer struggled for game time at the Camp Nou after making the switch from Valencia in 2016. He managed to score 15 goals in 50 appearances for the Blaugrana.
On the other hand, the Torrent-born forward has made just 5 starts for Dortmund this season but has been a revelation for them, coming off the bench.
Lucien Favre’s men hold a 6 point lead over Bayern Munich in the German top-flight. In what looks to be a very young and talented group at Signal Iduna Park, Alcacer is the perfect senior figure to tie it all together.
Barcelona’s official statement regarding the transfer read, “The club would like to publicly express its gratitude to Paco Alcacer for his commitment and dedication and wish him luck and success in the future.”
