Manchester United has made it official that the defender Rio Ferdinand has signed a new one year contract with the club. This means Ferdinand will make his 12th season with Manchester United. Ferdinand himself was happy for the contract and said:
– I am happy to have signed a new contract. It has been an incredible journey until this day and I am glad it will continue. It is a great team who are moving into a new era which is exciting. I am really looking forward to work with David and to win more titles with this great club.
David Moyes also commented Ferdinands new contract:
– It is clear that Rio has had one of his best seasons with the club and even from the outside it is clear what a big character he is around the dressing room. I am happy he signed a new contract and I am looking forward to work with him.
Ferdinand has played 432 games for Manchester United and has won 6 Premier League titles with the club.
