Serie A official transfers

Fabio Borini (free, from AC Milan to Hellas Verona)

Fabio Borini has left AC Milan to sign for Hellas Verona, both Serie A clubs announced on Tuesday. In a statement, Verona said former Liverpool and Chelsea forward Borini had signed a deal until the end of the current season, with neither club providing details of the contract.

Borini began his professional career at Chelsea after the Blues signed him from Bologna as a youth prospect. The 28-year-old went on to play 111 times in the Premier League for the London club, Liverpool and Sunderland, scoring 16 times. He left Sunderland in 2017 for Milan, where he made 75 appearances in all competitions and scored eight times.

Simon Skrabb (€2.8m, from Norrkoping to Brescia)

Brescia have officially signed Finland international centre-forward Simon Skrabb from IFK Norrkoping, the club announced Tuesday. The deal had been done already earlier this month, but was delayed by reported disagreements over how much commission his agent wanted. He has signed a contract with Brescia until June 2023.

Skrabb turns 25 at the end of this week and has 12 senior caps for Finland, without scoring a goal. His previous clubs are FF Jaro, Atvidaberg and Gefle, joining Norrkoping in January 2017.

Asmir Begovic (loan, from Bournemouth to AC Milan)

AC Milan have been very busy up until now, as they have also completed the signing of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on loan from Bournemouth. He will act as back-up for Gianluigi Donnarumma, replacing Pepe Reina after he departed for Aston Villa on Monday night. Begovic joins on a six-month deal until the end of the campaign.

Having fallen out of favour at the Cherries, the 32-year-old spent the opening half of the season on loan at Qarabag in Azerbaijan. In total, he has made 62 appearances for Bournemouth in the league after arriving in 2017 from Chelsea.

Simon Kjaer (loan, from Sevilla to AC Milan)

The Rossoneri also confirmed the signing of Danish international Simon Kjaer on loan from La Liga side Sevilla until the end of 2019-2020 season, with an option to buy. Kjaer previously joined another Italian Serie A team Atalanta on loan from Sevilla at the beginning of this season but the 30-year-old center back ended his contract with Atalanta.

”Simon Kjaer has terminated his loan deal with Italian side Atalanta BC, and has now joined AC Milan on loan. The deal includes an option to buy the Danish centre-half at the end of the season,” Sevilla said in a statement on their website. The former Fenerbahce defender had only played six matches for Atalanta in the first half of this season.

Bryan Dabo (loan, from Fiorentina to SPAL)

Fiorentina announced yesterday that Bryan Dabo has been loaned to SPAL for the remainder of the year, with the Estensi given the option to purchase him outright for an unknown sum in June. The Burkinabe international has already chosen his beloved number 14.

The deal comes a day after the teams faced off in Serie A with Fiorentina securing a 1-0 win at home. Dabo was not named in the matchday squad and has found it hard to break into Fiorentina’s first-team this season.

Jasmin Kurtic (loan, from SPAL to Parma)

Slovenia international Jasmin Kurtic has signed for Parma from SPAL, as a replacement for Dabo, the Serie A club announced. The midfielder, who turned 31 on Friday, signed a loan deal with Parma until the end of the season which will then turn into a permanent transfer, with his contract running until June 30, 2023. The deal is reported to be worth €3.5 million.

Kurtic, who has played 58 times for Slovenia, moved to Italy in 2011 and has also previously played for Sassuolo, Torino, Fiorentina and Atalanta. Kurtic joined SPAL in January 2018 after three seasons with Atalanta, helping the team stay in the top flight with a 13th-placed finish.
