Olivier Giroud and Mikel Arteta set for deals

Arsenal are set to offer new contracts to striker, Olivier Giroud and club-captain, Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard has entered the final year of his current deal and is wanting to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium by putting pen-to-paper on a new one-year deal.

Due to the club’s policy, players over the age of 30 only get offered 12-month extensions each year, and Arsene Wenger is ready to give his captain a further 12-months at the Emirates Stadium.

As well as Arteta, Giroud is in line for an extension, which could see his stay furthered until 2018 at least.

The duo aren’t expected to be offered a pay-rise at all, but both are keen to extend their stay at the North London club.
