Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that having Mesut Ozil in the side is the perfect replacement for Cesc Fabregas.

Back in the Summer of 2011, Arsenal fans were left devastated when their captain and icon, Fabregas, left the club in order to return to his boyhood club FC Barcelona, and a man who was bitterly disappointed was a young Jack Wilshere.

In a recent interview, Wilshere admitted that he was devastated when he found out that Fabregas had returned to Spain, but he know feels like Ozil is the perfect replacement and has labelled him as the best man to fill the void that the Spaniard left.

“The one I was really upset about leaving was Fabregas, I learned so much from just watching him,” he told Arsenal’s official website. “He’s similar to me starting at a young age.

“I was the most upset about him leaving. But to arrive I’m excited about Ozil, he’s settled in nicely.

“His first game away at Sunderland he got an assist and was man of the match.

“He plays the Arsenal way and I think there’s a lot more to come.

“He’s so comfortable on the ball, right foot, left foot.

“If you look at his stats he runs the most, he makes it look easy but that only masks how hard he works.”
