Arsenal are offering the midfielder a bumper new deal to stay at the club.
Arsenal are currently in talks to extend the contract of Mesut Ozil.
The German has been offered a new five-and-a-half year deal at the club, with wages of £180,000 a week. It’s a massive deal that is on the table and if the 27-year old puts pen to paper, he would become the highest paid Gunners player EVER.
This is no doubt due to his importance to the Emirates Stadium side – he has cemented himself as a key player for Arsenal and has been superb for the club at times this season.
New deal would cost £50m
It has led to slight interest from several European clubs and with boss Arsene Wenger eager to keep him at the club, he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep the World Cup winner in England – even if it means forking out what could be up to £50m on him because of this new deal!
His current deal is set to expire in 2019 and he is currently on £50,000 a week wages. It’s a huge step up in the amount he will be paid and although he does have three years left on his current contract, agreeing to stay until 2021 will erase any doubts anybody may have had about him leaving.
