The French side have agreed in principle to loan Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to Lecce.
Paris Saint-Germain and Cameroon striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is reportedly being linked to a surprise move to newly-promoted Serie A club, Lecce.
The Salentini finished second in Serie B last season, earning promotion to the top flight along with Brescia and Hellas Verona. They have been searching a striker all summer to partner Gianluca Lapadula and appear to have given up on Sassuolo’s Khouma Babacar, who is closer to SPAL.
Now, as per Sky Sport Italia‘s journalist Gianluca di Marzio, Lecce have been told by Paris Saint-Germain that they are willing to agree to the loan of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, if the Italians can convince the Cameroonian international to make the move.
The 30-year-old Cameroon international has made a series of free transfers in recent years, moving from Hamburger SV through Schalke 04, Stoke City and to the Parc des Princes last summer.
Last season, he made 31 competitive appearances with three goals and two assists, but became most famous for some quite remarkable misses that went viral. Choupo-Moting is only under contract with Thomas Tuchel’s side until the end of this season, although there is the option to add another year.
