Paris Saint-Germain Leading Race For Tottenham Defender

Paris Saint-Germain has topped Juventus in the race for Tottenham Hotspur left-back, Danny Rose.

The Englishman has been told by Spurs that he is surplus to their requirements and was kept back home for their pre-season tour in China. Rose is currently being shopped around to different clubs with PSG expressing the most interest.

Two summers back, Rose’s name was heavily speculated around over a £50m move to Manchester United. The Ligue 1 giants also wanted to sign him back then but Mauricio Pochettino chose to keep the 29-year-old.

Now, with Tottenham nearing a deal for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, they are willing to move on from their 12-year veteran. Rose has previously expressed a desire to move away from the club and might not mind a lucrative switch to PSG.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are ready to pay around €25m which nearly the same fees Spurs reportedly agreed on for Sessegnon. Pochettino already has Ben Davies in the left-back position, who can serve as a mentor to the young and budding English talent.

Tottenham are on a new path after recording generous profits this past season. They have already broken their transfer record by signing Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and have dished out an additional €12m for Leeds United’s Jack Clarke.

The North Londoners are clearly not here to sit back as the top six race gets more intense for the 2019/20 season.
