According to the Daily Mirror, Paris Saint-Germain have seen an opening bid worth ÂŁ15m get rejected by Bayern Munich for Renato Sanches.

Thomas Tuchel is desperately trying to sign a defensive midfielder this January with several names linked to the club. They recently lost out to Barcelona in the pursuit of Ajax wonderkid, Frenkie De Jong.

Talks have not reached hopeful stages with Everton for Idrissa Gueye or with Zenit St. Petersburg for Leandro Paredes. Now, PSG has seen their offer for an out-of-favour Munich player get rejected.

Sanches has turned out to be a flop at the Allianz Arena ever since he made the switch from Benfica in 2016. The 21-year-old jumped into the scene with impressive performances when he was simply a teenager.

However, he has failed to build on his early success, even spending a torrid loan spell with Swansea City last season. Now, he is behind Thiago Alacantra, Leon Goretzka and Javi Martinez in the Munich pecking order, making 16 appearances this season, mostly as a substitute.

Die Roten are looking to make additions themselves in Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi, having already signed Benjamin Pavard from VfB Stuttgart. They are not open to selling any first-team players but might take a second look at Sanches if PSG make a better offer.
