Paul Merson believes Chelsea need to strengthen two areas in the summer transfer window.
Antonio Conte’s Blues side just won the Premier League last term despite his first time in the English top flight.
Chelsea took the Premier League trophy easily with two games to spare after a 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion last month.
The west London side only just missed out on a double in Conte’s first season after a 2-1 loss to Prem rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Chelsea are linked with a bunch of players and Conte is starting to prepare for a return to the Champions League next term.
Speaking to Sky Sports about what signings Conte needs to add to his Chelsea squad this summer, former Arsenal midfielder Merson said:
“I’ve said all along they definitely need another wing-back as they get through a lot of work in that role.
“Cesc Fabregas looks like he’s going so they’ll need another midfielder as well.”
Conte signed four players in the 2016 summer transfer window after he was announced as Jose Mourinho’s permanent replacement.
The Blues have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons.
