Paul Merson says the Blues need to add another star defender to their line-up,
And the Arsenal legend is still unconvinced by David Luiz.
Luiz enjoyed a superb campaign following his £30million return to Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte’s side took the title, playing over 40 games and being named in the PFA Team of the Year.
However, Merson is still unconvinced by the Brazilian International, saying he was ‘found out again’ in the FA Cup final, showing ‘no awareness of the danger’ as Aaron Ramsey scored a late dramatic winner.
The former Arsenal man also believe there are two main areas that Chelsea still need to fill.
‘I think Conte needs to bring in another defender,’ the Gunners legend told Sky Sports.
‘I know everybody goes on about how good David Luiz has been but he got found out again in the FA Cup final.
‘He had no awareness of the danger for the Aaron Ramsey goal.
‘They looked tired in the cup final so they definitely need some more numbers in there to be able to balance Champions League and defending the Premier League title, especially with everybody out to beat the champions.’
