Paul Pogba believes he doesn’t deserve the Ballon d’Or but has suggested the award should go to a French player.

The 25 year old is one of the seven players to be included on the list of the best players. On the back of a successful World Cup, the Manchester United midfielder was expected to utilize his potential fully on the pitch but it’s been an erratic season for him so far.

Alongside him Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, Tottenham Hotspur custodian Hugo Lloris, Atletico Madrid forward Antoin Griezmann, Paris Saint Germain youngster Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid defender-forward duo Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane.

Pogba was one of the key players in France’s excellent World Cup campaign. The French side cruised to the World Cup title without many hiccups and the midfielder’s contribution cannot be ignored.

The midfielder said, “Whether it’s Grizou (Griezmann), Kylian (Mbappe) or Raph’ (Varane), they deserve it much more than me.

“I can not designate one. But I hope with all my heart that this is one of the three.

“One of the four also because there is NG (Kante). That’s all I hope for anyway, because there are many who deserve it. I do not put myself in.”
