Paul Pogba has revealed why he didn’t experiment much with his hair in the World Cup. The Manchester United midfielder went on to lift the trophy as France won the World Cup in Russia.
The 25 year old had been the driven force as France dominated proceedings from the start of the World Cup. Pogba played a pivotal role in implementing manager Didier Deschamps’ strategy on the pitch.
The former Juventus midfielder is often criticized for his flashy lifestyle and decorated hairstyle. He has been a mainstay in the French team but hasn’t been able to replicate his form for United.
Pogba opened up on why he decided not to focus on his hair.
“A haircut does not prevent you [the media] from talking, but I purposely did nothing, to stay low key.
“I wasn’t going to hear excuses about my haircut. We are going to stay focused. Talk about football, talk about the pitch, talk about performances.
“People say I’m a leader. I will never say that, you have to show it on the pitch.”

“I like to enjoy my life, but I can also be serious when I have to be serious.
“If I can help the squad by speaking at times like that, I do it. The World Cup is important, you had to show maturity.”
