Paul Scholes compares Manchester United defender to Wayne Rooney
Paul Scholes is one who loves to criticize players even after their best game. The Englishman surprisingly has claimed that Luke Shaw is someone very much like Wayne Rooney – and not in a positive way!
Speaking on BT SPort after the Red Devil’s Champions League win over Sporting Lisbon, Scholes said, “I don’t think he lives his life as clean as he possibly should do. He looks like a player who needs to be playing every week.”
“We had Wayne Rooney who was a player who missed a couple of games and you knew he’s not looking after himself right. He needs to be playing all the time, he needs to be playing Saturday Monday, Saturday Tuesday, whatever it may be and I think Luke Shaw’s exactly the same.” added the United legend.
All way not bad for Luke Shaw from Scholes. He went on to say, “Can he get a run of 10 games in the team? I’m not sure what the problem is. Ashley Young’s done so well at left wing-back. You’d have to think there is a future for him, I hope there’s a future for him.”
The legend finally agreed that the former Southampton star showed a lot of potential and it’s just the injuries that have ruined his career. “A couple of years ago I thought he was possibly the best left-back in the world. He’s had injury problems, he’s had fitness problems. If you get him playing I think there’s a chance for him.” said Scholes.
