Tottenham’s interest in the Brazilian midfielder is well known, and it is understood that a €20million buy-out clause has triggered a possible transfer from their bid. It is now down to the player, as Corinthians director Duilio Alves reported: “the club cannot do anything [when the clause is matched]”.
The 24 year old is currently with Brazil at the Confederations cup but Alves insisted that a decision will be taken after the tournament.
Paulinho, having been an integral part of the Brazil midfield during the cup, has widely welcomed a potential move to north London, saying that he “couldn’t turn them down if they made an offer”.
“I feel I am ready to experience football at the highest level in Europe and the opportunity to play in England is a dream. It’s a great pleasure to be linked to such a great club like Tottenham. They have a reputation as one of the great clubs in England who play exciting, attacking football which suits my style”
.”It would be a fantastic opportunity to play for Tottenham.”
The London club has not commented on the transfer
