Winger officially joined Chelsea yesterday
New Chelsea signing Pedro has admitted Jose Mourinho is the main reason he snubbed Manchester United.
Chelsea completed the £21.4m signing of Spanish winger Pedro after Louis van Gaal decided not to pursue the deal any further.
The 28 year-old signed a four year deal with the champions and began his training today at Cobham with his new team mates.
Though talks with ex-Barca team mate Cesc Fabregas were part of the reason for Pedro’s move, whilst speaking to ChelseaTV, he revealed it was the talks with Jose Mourinho which swayed him.
Pedro Statement
Pedro said: “He is one of the main reasons why I’m here. He phoned me a few times and said he needed me to make the team stronger.
“He has won titles wherever he has been. I am really looking forward to playing under him and hopefully winning more titles.
Pedro won the treble with Barcelona last season and spoke about his ambition to carry on winning trophies with the Blues.
He said: “I am very fast. I do everything possible to win.
“I have helped Barcelona win titles and I want to do exactly the same thing at Chelsea, because ultimately we are all here to win things.”
