Manuel Pellegrini has said that he has power over transfers at West Ham United.

The Chilean gaffer said this while answering questions about the future of Marko Arnautovic at the club.

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that he has power over the transfer decisions made at the club. The Chilean gaffer said this in context to the future of the talismanic striker Marko Arnautovic, who might be on his way out of the London Stadium this January. From his words, it seems that the manager is going to have the final say on the matter of Arnautovic’s possible transfer from the club.

When asked whether he has any say on the transfer decisions or not, the West Ham gaffer said, “Absolutely 100 per cent sure. If I say the player must stay, the player will stay. I don’t have any problem with the club.”

He added, “In all the months I’ve been working here I never had any problems with the owners about that. So they are not forcing me to sell Marko Arnautovic. But I think as a manager the best thing is to take the solution that is best for the player and the club. Both together. If they agree, we don’t have any problem to change.”

The Austrian marksman has been closely linked with an unnamed Chinese Super League club and there is a possibility of the player leaving the club this January. However, after the manager’s comments on transfer decisions, it seems that the player might be forced to stay at the east London club for some more time to come.
