The defender has made it into the Chelsea line-up in recent weeks and has been in top form,
Which is no surprise after two years in the Bundesliga where he showed off his impressive talents week in week out.
Now according to reports Manchester City boss Pep Guardiolo is keen to get him over to his side in 2018.
The reports come from what Blue Pat Nevin has claimed, saying that Pep Guardiola would love to bring the 21-year-old to Manchester City.
“I heard a wee whisper, and I don’t know if it’s true, but the player he would really like more than anyone else is Andreas Christensen from Chelsea,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“That’s the one he’d really like.
“He’s not going to get him but he’s at that sort of age he could to the same thing as [John] Stones.”
Meanwhile, former Chelsea ace Ray Wilkins thinks Christensen is much better than David Luiz.
Luiz has been the fall guy given the form of the youngster, struggling to break back into the team.
And Wilkins reckons Conte is doing the right thing by picking Christensen over Luiz.
“I don’t know his [Andreas Christensen’s] character, but from what I’ve seen of him, he’s rock solid,” he told sportingbet.
“He does not get ahead of the ball.
“David Luiz gets ahead of the ball when they play a three at the back. Christensen is a proper defender, he defends for his life. No nonsense with the ball, he gets it and gives it.
“I think his time in Germany with Monchengladbach has done him the world of good.
“I remember seeing him play for Chelsea against AFC Wimbledon and Akinfenwa gave him the worst time possible, he beat him up, but playing in Germany toughened him up.
“He’s an outstanding addition to the squad and I wouldn’t be surprised if Conte stuck with him for the rest of the season.”
