Pep Guardiola Feels Raheem Sterling Is A More Matured Player

Pep Guardiola believes Raheem Sterling has turned into a more matured player this season. The English international has already racked up three goals and is looking impressive with each day passing.

Sterling had a breakthrough last season as he recorded his highest ever figure notching up 18 goals in the Premier League as Manchester City romped their way to the Premier League title.

The 23 year old has started the campaign from where he left off last season. Since his multi million dollar move from Liverpool the youngster had been struggling to hit the ground running. But the appointment of Guardiola at the Etihad stadium has worked wonders for him as the manager has completely changed the perception of the player.

Guardiola said, “I think it is higher. My feeling right now is that he is more mature than last season. I like it.

“Maybe I am wrong but my feeling is that he is more mature in terms of responsibility and in terms of belief. I think he believes more in himself than even last season, I guess.

“Raheem is a special guy and when he plays behind the striker he is so, so dangerous. In pre-season we played against Bayern Munich in the United States he played behind the striker and played really well.

“He is a big, big talent and hopefully he can get the minutes. He deserves to play.”
