Pep Guardiola has called for patience in case of the contract extension of Leroy Sane.
The City manager wants the winger to stay at City for many years to come.
According to Mail Online, Pep Guardiola is hopeful that Leroy Sane will stay at Manchester City for many more years to come. However, he does not want to hurry things and provide time to the German youngster to take his time to make the decision regarding him staying at Manchester City, not to mention that he wants him to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
It has been months that the German sensation and the Premier League champions have been discussing terms and there has still been no solution to the contract conundrum. However, the Spanish manager is confident that both the parties can come to a resolution regarding the contract situation so that Sane can stay back at Manchester City.
In fact, Sane has been one of the sharpest weapons in the arsenal of the Premier League winning side, his footwork and goal-scoring skills being top class and absolutely eye-widening. It is no wonder that every manager would want a player of his calibre to be a part of his squad and Guardiola is no exception to that.
The City manager said, ‘The last information I had was that it’s going well but the process does not take one day.’ He added, ‘Raheem Sterling was not one day. With Kevin De Bruyne it was done in one or two days, (but) the other ones sometimes take longer but hopefully he can stay here for many, many years.’
In the last one year, eight Manchester City players have extended their contracts to stay at the club. This list includes the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.
